The Thrill Of The HUNT!!!

“Why Am I On THIS Call?”

Okay, so I took the time tonight to call into a weekly team training call that my upline holds to “MOTIVATE” his downline into production.  Not to knock this guy because he has made MILLIONS in our industry as well as built a world-class organization over his entire 11 yrs, but how many times can a junkie get off on the hype of getting a FIX before they physically need that hit? Being a STUDENT of network marketing as well as a PRODUCER in this industry, I noticed several flaws in this call (which caused me to hang up nauseated from the verbal roller coaster coming thru my teleconference system):


The people on this call are already IN the primary business and in earning positions with the company, but for some odd reason, my upline adjusted his posture to talk to the attendees as if he was recruiting them all over again… The HYPE that he was dealing out about being in OUR OPPORTUNITY was so blatant that it was obvious to me that he sells the dream to keep the income coming in.  Once again, I can’t question his business because he has made his bones in our company & in this industry, but I’ve learned in my successes that you don’t need to HYPE your downline partners if you’re providing VALUE to them in the form of knowledge and expertise AND A FREAKING CHECK IN THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS that came from your duplicated example. 


Every tip, trick and secret that was shared with the collective was born and birthed from the CHASING PROSPECTS school of thought.  Buy leads!!! Call them until they change their numbers!!! Constantly be talking to everybody that you come into contact with about your business!!! SHOW THE PLAN!!! SHOW THE PLAN!!! SHOW THE PLLLLLLLLAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I was ready to fight the English alongside William Wallace for freedom…)  This approach doesn’t work anymore if you’re really trying to BUILD a serious organization in network marketing. The attrition rates alone are too high to create any real growth and SHOWING THE PLAN will only keep you broke.  You must have a funded proposal to generate your own leads and have prospects seeking you out instead of being the hunter.


I won’t go in too deep on this one. But it’s not a good look or feeling when you have to remind the call that you’re not trying to come off as arrogant or talking down to everyone on the call…

In short, I guess that since I’ve been away from the weekly pep talks for so long that I really expected some things to change.  It does bother me a little bit that it hasn’t changed at all, but if it did, then I wouldn’t be doing so well in my business that is built on NO-HYPE and attraction marketing principles…

I am going to the next big event tho’… I most definitely will share my story and might even mention how Cedrick Harris, Jonathan Budd, Mike Dillard and others got me out of packing those calls and into packing my luggage for all-inclusive destinations.

Trust me… There is a better way!!!
